The policy contains internal links so you can switch between various sections without having to scroll through the entire text of the policy. When you visit a website, your browser automatically shares certain information, such as your IP address and other device information. Such sharing can allow the website and/or content providers to track you over time and across multiple websites. Many web browsers allow users an option to send a “Do Not Track” signal to websites, requesting such sites not use online tracking mechanisms for the requesting user. Our policy regarding “Do Not Track” signal requests is simple: If you opt through your web browser to send a “Do Not Track” signal, and our website receives the signal, our website is designed to honor the “Do Not Track” request regarding web data. We do this through the use of an industry trusted third-party DoNotTrack plugin. You should be aware that no third-party plugin is 100% foolproof. While we exercised our best efforts in selecting this plugin, we make no warranty regarding the effectiveness of this plugin or any other third-party security plugin. If you have any further questions about our policy regarding “Do Not Track” signals, or believe our plugin is not correctly honoring a “Do Not Track” signal, please contact us using the information listed above.

We gather distinct categories of information. We collect what we refer to as “personal information” as well as “non-personal information” from our users.

“Non-personal information” is information that cannot directly be connected to a specific person without being compiled with additional information. For example, “Shih Tzu Owner,” in and of itself would be non-personal information. “125 Shih Tzu Owners in Illinois” would also be non-personal information.

“Personal information,” on the other hand, is information that can be directly associated with a specific person, without any additional information, such as a first and last name, an e-mail address, mailing address, or a telephone number. For example, “John Doe, Shih Tzu Owner at 123 Any Street, Chicago, Illinois,” would constitute personal information.

Through our various business activities, we may gather a variety of data, constituting both personal information and non-personal information. For example, if you report a pet related matter to our Solutions.pet team either via our website or over the phone, you may share your name and contact information, information about the pet, information about the pet’s environment, the pet’s specific matter, etc. Likewise, if you register a pet through our registrations team, you may share similar information with our staff. We also collect personal and non-personal information you voluntarily provide to us via email, written correspondence or telephone.

Any financial or credit card information you provide to us, whether over the internet or over the phone, when making a purchase is transmitted through a secure third-party portal to our payment vendor, and is not retained or stored by us.

At times we may obtain personal and/or non-personal information about you from a third party. For example, if you purchase a dog with a registration bundle, we may access the third-party source where you purchased your pet, or any third-party pet inventory systems.

When you interact with us electronically, such as by visiting this website, we may automatically electronically receive and record non-personal information about you. This may include such data as IP addresses, domain names, pages you visit or features you use, time of your visit, files downloaded, URLs from other website you visit before or after navigating to our materials, software and hardware attributes (including device IDs), and geographic location. However, see our policy regarding “Do Not Track” signals above. If you have any further questions about the types of information we collect, please contact us using the information listed above.

Third Party Pet® takes data security very seriously. Our websites, both internal and externally-facing, use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your data, using the HTTPS protocol. These systems are designed to prevent the unauthorized viewing, altering, or deleting of your information. Our servers are physically stored in a secured environment. If you have any further questions about our security measures, please contact us using the information listed above.

If you receive e-mail from our company and no longer wish to receive similar messages, you may unsubscribe by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in such e-mail. If you receive a telephone call offering products or services and do not wish to receive similar calls in the future, ask to have your number removed from our calling list and we will honor your wishes. Please be aware that if you speak with a member of our call center staff, your call may be recorded for quality assurance and training purposes. If you have any further questions about our communications policy, please contact us using the information listed above.

We reserve the right to use cookies and beacons (sometimes known as “single-pixel gif files” or “clear gif files”) when you interact with us electronically.

Cookies are small files that are stored on your device, and that allow us to recognize prior visits, user preferences, etc. You can alter browser settings to update your preferences regarding cookies. The “Help” menu on the menu bar of most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, and how to disable cookies altogether. Additionally, you can disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as Flash cookies, by changing the add-on’s settings or visiting the website of the browser’s manufacturer. However, not all features of our websites may necessarily work optimally without cookies. To find out more about cookies, including how to see which cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

Beacons may be embedded in a web page or e-mail and facilitate sharing of certain non-personal and/or personal information, for example, whether a user opened an e-mail. This device is similar to a cookie in that it tracks your visit and the data can only be read by the server that receives the data. It is different than a cookie in that it is not browser-based, may not function as an identification card and does not store any data on your computer.

If you have any further questions about our cookies and beacons policy, please contact us using the information listed above. Also see our policy regarding “Do Not Track” signals above.

We may use your personal and non-personal information for a variety of purposes. For example, if you contact us with a pet related matter, we may review information previously provided to or obtained by us to avoid the necessity for you to repeat information. Additionally, we may combine the information you provided with any information acquired from third-party sources, such as the source where you purchased your pet, to try to best understand your situation, address any concerns, tailor relevant communications to you, and provide outstanding customer service. We may also use your information to fulfill orders and perform services requested by you, such as completing pet registration, assisting in warranty claims, and making appointments at stores for prospective purchasers.

Any financial or credit card information you provide to us, whether over the internet or over the phone, when making a purchase is transmitted through a secure third-party portal to our payment vendor, and is not retained or stored by us.

Additionally, we may use your personal and/or non-personal information to send you information about order status, our products and services, and any other topics that we think may be of interest to you based on your purchases, your pet type, and the age of your pet or other information we have collected about you and your pet. These may include e-mails, telephone calls, or written mail, including newsletters, updates, delivery confirmations, account information, advertising materials, awards and contests, notifications, service-related announcements, improvements to personalize your experience, surveys to improve the quality of our products and services, for legal or regulatory reasons, to convey our own offers, or to convey third-party offers for goods and services, or credit.

Non-personal information may be aggregated for purposes such as counting the number of customers, analyzing demographics, improving our services, creating better products and services, enabling online analytics and research, and managing our business.

If you have any further questions about our policy regarding the use of personal and non-personal information, please contact us using the information listed above.

We are pleased to operate with many businesses in the pet-related industry and other industries to provide a number of services to our customers in an integrated, smooth, and efficient manner. For example, even though we do not own any pet stores, we process customer service questions on behalf of third-party pet stores and third-party franchises, enter non-personal and personal information into third-party purebred and other dog registration databases, assist third-party stores in responding to inquiries from interested potential customers, and submit payment data to third-party payment systems. Any financial or credit card information you provide to us, whether over the internet or over the phone, when making a purchase is transmitted through a secure third-party portal to our payment vendor, and is not retained or stored by us.

We may also share your personal and non-personal information with third-parties that may offer products, services, and other information that we believe may be useful or of interest to you.

Because of our dedication to animals, pets and the pet industry, we may also share your personal and non-personal information with third-parties to help those third-parties identify potential issues relating to the pets they breed, raise and sell.

Throughout our transactions, we receive personal and non-personal information from third-party sources and we also share such information with third-party sources to render requested services, improve your experience with our company, provide information that may be useful or of interest to you or as otherwise described in this Policy. This information includes methods to contact you by e-mail, telephone, and/or by mail, as well as other demographic data. Our business provides and facilitates data sharing between third-party businesses, for which we are remunerated by third-party businesses. Additionally, as our business grows and changes, we may share your data with other parties for remuneration. You always have the right to request that we not transfer your data for these purposes.

Additionally, from time to time, we may engage third parties who may collect analytics, auditing, research, and reporting using personal and non-personal information. Third-party web plugins may collect information about you such as your IP address and pages you view, and may use cookies.

Third Party Pet® does not control the privacy policies of third-party companies with whom you or we may share non-personal or personal information, to include pet stores, franchisors, pet database owners, dog registration providers, financing or credit companies, advertisers, and any other third-party companies not under the direct ownership of Third Party Pet®. If you have questions about the types of personal information we have shared and with whom, please contact us using the information listed above. If you have any questions about any third-party business’s policies, please refer to its respective privacy policy.

Finally, personal and non-personal information may always be shared with third parties when we believe, in our sole discretion, that doing so is required to comply with federal, state, or local law, a court order, subpoena, or other legal process, or to establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims or potential legal claims.
